... to Jim's Place, with his furry companion Genie

Jim Genie
After Pooh Bear's passing, I realized that living without a four-legged furry friend just wasn't going to work for me. On a vacation to Florida over the Thanksgiving holidays of 2008, I found that Maxasta Kennels in Macon, GA had a 15 month old Finnish Spitz available. We stopped on the way down and saw her, then picked her up on the way back north. She's going to be a welcome addition to my family! I proudly present Maxasta's One More Time Again, or as she'll be known here - -
Genie.....

The two of us reside in Mason, Ohio, a smaller community situated about 20 miles north of Cincinnati. However, it may not be a small community for long, as it is now the fastest growing area in southwestern Ohio. Mason has been home to the W&S Tennis Championships; the world class theme park, Paramount's Kings Island; an excellent golfing facility designed by Jack Nicklaus, the Golf Center at King's Island; large waterpark called The Beach; and now a unique place to stay - Great Wolf Lodge.
A few other major attractions in the Cincinnati area:

Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra U.S. Air Force Museum Cincinnati Zoo

I am an "all-american" of Dutch, German, Irish, and Scottish descent, aged 67. I was employed as a maintenance technician with an area municipality, but am now retired. Genie and Pooh Bear are Finnish Spitzes, a breed introduced to this country in 1959. Pooh was without a doubt one of the finest pets I have ever had. Extremely clean, she never made a mess, except when she shed her coat annually. I expect Genie will live up to these same standards. This breed has an unusual trait in that they do not have the usual "doggie" smell. The breed was accepted for registration in 1988 by the AKC. You can also learn more about the breed at this Finnish Spitz site.
For the last fifteen years, I have become quite engrossed with the world of computers, with this current system being my fifth. It is a homemade system, consisting of:
Intel D975XBX "Bad Axe" motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo X6800 Xtreme 2.93Ghz (Conroe) processor
Team 2Gb DDR2 667Mhz 3-3-3-8 RAM
ASUS N EN6600 SILENT/TD/512M video card

2- W-D 500 gig. 7,200 RPM SATA hard drives in RAID 0
1- W-D Caviar 500 gig. 7200 RPM EIDE hard drive (Total- 5 terabytes of internal storage)
Antec Sonata 2 piano black 'Silent' case with 550 watt power supply
16X Dual-layer Plextor DVD burner
9-in-1 media card reader
ASUS SBW-06C1S-U Blu-Ray Burner
A Benq 241W 24" WideScreen LCD monitor, 3- 1.5 TB external USB drives and 2- 500 GB external USB drives for backup, Epson Perfection 636U scanner, Epson Stylus Photo R220 printer, HP LaserJet P1006, Logitech WebCam digital camera, Microsoft USB Natural Ergonomic keyboard 4000 and Optical Mouse, and an APC 750VA UPS round out the system. This system is lightning fast, running Windows XP Professional as the primary OS and Windows 2000 Professional as backup. I am connected to the world with Road Runner Turbo, a cable modem service providing fantastic download speeds in excess of 2 mB/sec. There's also a 3.06 GHz. system available for my guests when they drop in, with their choice of operating systems to boot into, and a Toshiba laptop.
Facebook keeps me in contact with friends and several family members. It sure does seem to make the world a smaller place. Everyone is just a few keystrokes away. My small group of regulars include friends and family in Canada, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey and Sweden.
About an hour of each evening is spent responding in the Suggest-a-Fix computer forum, attempting to help others with problems they have with their systems. Perhaps I'll get to see you there sometime!

Well, I've rattled on long enough. Enjoy your computer to the max. There's no better piece of learning equipment in the world. It can offer more entertainment than anything else I know of.
Thank you for visiting;
